Strengthening QA through Flying Probe Verification
Forwessun has announced a new investment in production-line quality assurance, adding an advanced flying probe verification machine. This strategic move reinforces the company’s ongoing commitment to precision, reliability, and manufacturing excellence through enhanced quality assurance processes.
The new system is designed to catch wiring anomalies before they become costly downstream problems, a critical checkpoint between fixture wiring and fixture debug. The machine automatically inspects fixtures to confirm that every connection is correct, helping ensure that only accurately wired fixtures move forward in the production process.
Forwessun’s investment in advanced verification machines demonstrates their dedication to reducing rework and ensuring customer satisfaction. By verifying wiring integrity at the source, Forwessun aims to reduce rework, shorten debug cycles, and deliver consistent quality to customers.
Flying Probe Verification Machine – Assessing Fixture Wiring
Built for Precision with Quality Assurance
The flying probe is a high-precision XY platform capable of 0.02 mm repeatability, paired with CCD camera alignment for accuracy. The system can move at speeds up to 18 meters per minute and test up to 2,500 points per hour, allowing it to process fixtures quickly without sacrificing thoroughness. This investment in quality assurance ensures that the manufacturing process remains both efficient and accurate.
Other features include:
● Fixture open/short circuit testing
● Vacuum-assisted downward pressure mechanisms
● Capable of testing VCC, MUX, and adapter pin wiring
Smarter Software, Faster Diagnostics
Supporting the hardware is an operational software suite built for flexibility and ease of use. The system can import test point data from a variety of CAD and software programs, automatically detect whether measurements are metric or imperial, and save coordinate data for future re-import and re-alignment, reducing setup time on repeat jobs.
Technicians can search for specific pin numbers or net names, with test points sorted, categorised, and visually differentiated by colour and size for faster identification. The software also automates open/short circuit learning and generates detailed test reports, giving maintenance personnel clear, actionable findings to repair fixtures efficiently.
A Broader Commitment to Quality Assurance
The integration of the new verification machine signifies Forwessun’s proactive approach to quality assurance within the production workflow. The new verification machine reflects Forwessun’s broader strategy of investing in tools that reinforce quality at every stage of production. Rather than treating fixture verification as an afterthought.
