Forwessun Provides On-Site ICT Training for Global EMS Leader Sanmina

Recently, our UK Production Supervisor, Chris Rowlands, visited Sanmina in Chennai to deliver a focused, hands-on ICT training programme. This trip was commissioned by one of Forwessun‘s long standing partners, to improve the knowledge at their contract manufacturer, so engineers can confidently maintain and repair test fixtures. What Did The Training Include?

The training built a complete maintenance workflow for day to day production support.   Topics included:

  • Safe isolation and handling
  • Controlled access
  • Repeatable diagnostic workflows (open plate, shorting plate, alignment PCB or alignment sheet path)
  • Probe and termination replacement principles
  • Damage prevention practices
  • Targeted repairs and verification loops (one change, re-test in the defined order, log and sign-off)
  • Floating plate access and wireless PCB removal and re-installation

Chris with a team member To make it practical, Forwessun provided a dedicated sample test fixture. This allowed the trainees to practice higher-risk access steps safely, without touching any live production units. “Using a sample fixture turned the training from theory into real confidence,” said Chris. Raj, Production Leader at EMechanicz and two team members also attended. Their practical insights added depth to troubleshooting discussions and helped refine solutions on the spot. Chris praised the Sanmina and EMechanicz participants: “Siraj, Jeeva, and the EMechanicz team were hands-on from the start, asking sharp questions and applying the workflow to real problems.” Structured classroom sessions, hands-on drills, and the safe training fixture transformed a theoretical method into a workflow the team can put into practice in a production environment. “The win wasn’t just getting a pass result, it was building a method the team can repeat tomorrow without guesswork.” Chris explained, “Good fixture maintenance is control, evidence, one change, and re-test. When you do that consistently, reliability follows” For more information on how Forwessun can strengthen your teams ICT’s skills, click here.
